About Meza Consulting

Meza Consulting was founded in Maryland on July 2016. It is led by its Founder and CEO Eduardo Meza Etienne.
Eduardo has been working in the digital accessibility space since 2007 for the leading accessibility consulting companies in the industry including Level Access and eSSENTIAL Accessibility (merged with Level Access August 2022). Prior to that and starting in 2000 Mr. Meza Etienne worked for a Small Business Administration 8a certified small business and a state of Maryland Minority Business Enterprise certified business owned by a deaf couple which was an approved vendor to Maryland Division of Rehabilitation Services, where he performed needs assessments, assistive technology recommendations and training for Maryland residents with disabilities to help them gain skills to become independent and get a job. In addition to that during that time he travelled throughout the United States training both Social Security Administration (SSA) and Internal Revenue Services (IRS) employees in how to use different types of assistive technologies. This also included working with the Department of Defense Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP) and the World Bank.
Eduardo is someone with a non-apparent disability who understands first-hand the challenges faced by those with disabilities in the workplace. For this reason, he has been involved in the board of directors of Disability:IN DC Metro since 2008, the Maryland, DC and Northern Virgnia based affiliate of Disability:IN where he also plays the role of Chief Accessibility Officer providing guidance and advice to its members that include many of the large government contractors such as EY, Deloitte, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, to mention a few.
During Mr. Meza-Etienne’s time as an accessibility subject matter expert he has had the opportunity to work with Fortune 500 companies in various verticals and agencies at the Federal and state levels including higher education institutions. In particular, he has worked with organizations across different verticals including Capital One, Hewlett Packard, VMware, Estee Lauder, Petco, Merck, Johnson & Johnson including state governments such as the state of Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania to help them integrate accessibility early into their development lifecycle, including the creation of Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACR) based on the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) for their software and hardware Information and Communication Technologies products. He has helped numerous organizations with their IT projects, ensuring compliance with American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
He is also an active member of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and a Certified Professional of Accessibility Core Competencies, and an Accessibility Document Specialist certified by the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP). He is a frequent speaker at different accessibility-related conferences.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Monterrey Institute of Technology in Mexico and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and a Master’s in International Management from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management. He lives with his wife and two daughters in Frederick county, Maryland.
